Apple Crisp

Gluten free, dairy free, sugar free (and totally delicious)

It’s so easy to give thanks for the goodness in our lives with the presence of sweet and tart baked apples and a crumbly topping.

This simple recipe can be made with other fruits such as pears or berries too. I do not miss the sugar because of the natural sweetness of the apples.

8-10 cups of chopped apples (or other fruit). Leave peel on organic apples for added fiber.

Topping:
2 cups of Gluten Free oats or chopped pumpkin seeds for a grain free version
1 cup of almond flour OR any other flour
4 tsp of ground cinnamon
1 mL of salt
1/2 cup of olive oil OR melted coconut oil (OR butter, if dairy is good for you)

Place fruit in a baking dish about 8″ x 12″ x 3″.
Mix the ingredients of the topping in a separate bowl. Place the topping mix onto of the apples.

Bake at 350˚F for 30 to 45 minutes, OR until the apples are soft and the kitchen smells delicious. Glass dishes have longer bake times than metallic dishes.
